Discover Ballet

For the Beginner

Never danced before? No problem. We pay a lot of attention to the basics at the barre. You learn the positions and technique step by step, so you can build up injury-free.

For the Advanced Dancer

Do you already have experience? Then we challenge you with more complex combinations, focusing on musicality and expression. The exercises are made more intensive for you.

For the All-round Dancer:

Ballet is the foundation of almost all dance styles. Do you want to get better at Hip Hop, Modern, or Jazz? With ballet, you improve your technique and posture, which is reflected in every other dance form.

All about Ballet

What does a class look like?

We always start with an extensive warm-up at the barre, focusing on technique and injury prevention. Then we do combinations in the centre of the room and finish with moving exercises across the diagonal, such as jumps and turns.

Do I need special shoes?

It is best to dance on soft ballet shoes. Don't have those (yet)? Then you can also participate perfectly fine on socks.

What is the difference with the LAK courses?

At the USC, the focus is on fitness, technique, and physical exercise (open walk-in). Are you looking for a more artistic approach focused on choreography, performance, and working towards a show? Then take a look at LAK creatieve cursussen.
