Social, fast-paced, and addictively fun: discover Padel! Padel is the fastest-growing sport in the world, and you can now play it on the brand-new outdoor courts at the USC! It is a unique mix of tennis and squash, where the glass walls are part of the game. Since it's always played 2-vs-2, it’s the most social sport out there – perfect for hitting the court with friends or colleagues.

Opening offer: Do all four players have a USC membership? Then you can book a court for free through our app. Please note: all players must scan the QR code at the court to check in before playing.

All about Padel

How can I book a court with my subscription?

During the opening period, booking is free if you play with 4 USC members. The main booker adds the other 3 people (with valid subscriptions) to the reservation. You can book up to 72 hours in advance.

Can I rent a court without a subscription?

Yes! If you want to play with fewer than 4 members or don't have a subscription, you can rent a court. The rate is €15 (off-peak: Mo to Fri until 16:00 hrs.) or €20 (peak: Mo to Fri after 16:00 hrs. and weekends) per half hour. Email reserveren@usc.leidenuniv.nl or call 071 527 4610.

How does checking in work?

Everyone in the reservation must check in individually by scanning the QR code at the padel court. This is possible from 50 minutes before to 30 minutes after the start time.

What is the no-show policy?

You can cancel up to 1 hour before the start. If you are not present on time or do not check in, you will receive a warning, and a €2.50 fine per person will apply for repeat offenses.

Are lessons offered?

Currently, there are no courses available. We hope to start USC padel courses later in 2026.
