Are you looking for a hockey club where the 'third half' (socializing) is just as important as the match? At L.S.H. Thor (Leiden Student Hockey Club) you will find students from all kinds of studies and ages. It is the only club in Leiden founded entirely for and by students.
Whether you have been on the field for years or have never held a hockeystick before: at Thor there is room for everyone. We combine fanatical hockey with legendary parties, drinks, and tournaments.
At Thor, we offer five different types of hockey, suitable for everyone from beginners to advanced players! Five of our teams compete on Sundays in the regular KNHB league, three teams play matches every Monday in the corporate hockey league, and one training team practices every Monday. In addition, Thor also offers indoor hockey, spring hockey, and during the breaks we organize summer and winter evening hockey sessions.
At Thor, winning the third half is just as important as winning the first two! There’s always something going on, and if not, you’ll find us at our regular pub, De Keyzer. In addition to these social events, we also organize an annual members’ weekend and many more fun activities throughout the year. All of these events are made possible by Thor’s many committees — the driving force behind our association!
At Thor, you’re more than welcome — even if it’s your very first time holding a hockey stick. We offer teams at different levels, and every year new students join who are just starting out with hockey. So you definitely won’t be alone. Enjoying it? Then you can always move up to a team that fits your level in the following years.
