Swing in style

Always wanted to glide across the dance floor with an English Waltz or dazzle with a Tango? Ballroom Dancing (Ballroom & Latin) is the classic that never gets boring. It is the perfect combination of technique, sense of rhythm, and cooperation with your partner. You work on your posture, become more flexible, and – believe us – your fitness will improve significantly.

At the USC, ballroom dancing is for everyone. Whether you have never taken a step or have been dancing for years: we have a course at your level. You meet new people, enjoy the music, and before you know it, you'll steal the show at every party.

Discover Ballroom Dancing

For the Beginner

Never danced before? No problem! In the beginner course, you learn the basics of the English Waltz, Tango, Quickstep, Cha-cha-cha, Rumba, and Jive. Step by step and with lots of personal attention.

For the Advancer

Got the hang of it? At the intermediate level (after course A and B), the Viennese Waltz and Samba are added. At the advanced level, you also learn the technically challenging Slow Foxtrot and Paso Doble.

For the Socializer

Besides the lessons, there are special activities such as the Christmas Class and the 'Medaltest Dance Evening' at the end of the season. It is the ideal place to make new friends in a relaxed atmosphere.

All about Ballroom Dancing

Do I need a fixed partner?

No, that is not mandatory. You can register individually. During the class, partners are often switched, which is good for your technique and social contacts. Do you have a partner? Then of course you can dance together.

When can I move up to a higher level?

To move up to intermediate, you must have completed course A and B (beginners). The best time to join is in September or January. Unsure about your level? Feel free to ask the instructor.

What if I miss a class?

Try to be present at every class, because we build on the previous lesson every week. Have you missed more than 2 classes? Then unfortunately you can no longer participate in the rest of the course, because the lag in technique becomes too great.
