It Takes Two to Tango But No Two Tangos Are the Same

You may know tango from dramatic films, and dancers staring intensely into the distance with a rose between their teeth. Fortunately, you can leave the rose at home.

Argentine tango is about connection. It is an improvised dance in which two people listen to each other, respond to the music, and create something completely new with every song. There is no fixed choreography to memorise and no single “correct” way to dance. You learn a shared movement language and then use it to have a conversation without words.

During this course, you will discover how to move together with confidence. You will work on your balance, musicality, and the small details that make tango feel magical when they click.

No previous dance experience is needed, and you do not have to bring a partner. Simply bring comfortable shoes, a little curiosity, and your best tango face.

What do you need?

Discover Argentine Tango

For the Beginner

Never danced tango before? Excellent, you are exactly where you need to be. You will begin with the essentials. From there, you will build simple movements and combinations that you can use on the social dance floor.

For the Socializer

Looking for a way to meet new people? Tango might be your answer. During this course, you will dance with different people, share plenty of laughs, and quickly become part of the group. Bring a friend or arrive knowing nobody. By the end of the lesson, you will have shared the dance floor with half the room and possibly discovered your new favourite night activity.

For the Music Lover

Argentine tango music can make you feel that you are the main character in a black-and-white film. During the course, you will explore different orchestras and styles, and learn how the music influences your movement.

For the After-Work Escapist

Spent the whole day staring at a screen? Tango offers a much better way to switch off. For one hour, your attention moves away from deadlines and notifications towards music and movement. Consider it a perfect evening reset!

All about Argentine Tango

Do I need to bring a partner?

Absolutely not. You can register individually, and partners will rotate regularly during the lessons. This gives everyone the opportunity to practice with different dancers. You are, of course, also welcome to register together with a partner.

Do I need dance experience?

Not at all. The teacher will teach you various dance steps from the basics. With the right guidance, you will master the footwork quickly.

What shoes should I wear?

Wear clean, comfortable shoes that stay securely on your feet and have a relatively smooth sole. Very sticky rubber soles can make turning difficult, while loose shoes may decide to continue dancing without you.

What if I miss a class?

The lessons build on one another, so regular attendance is recommended. But don’t worry! If you miss a class, the instructor can help you find your feet again when you return.
