All about Boxing

What does a class look like?

We always start with a solid warm-up (cardio and strength) to loosen up the muscles. Then we practice combinations in pairs on gloves or punching bags. We often finish with a short moment of sparring (optional and controlled) to put the technique into practice.

Do I need my own equipment?

As a beginner, you can borrow boxing gloves from the USC. What you do need to have yourself are inner gloves or wraps (bandages). This is mandatory for hygiene and protection of your wrists. Don't have them? No worries, they are for sale at the front desk.

Is sparring mandatory?

Safety and respect come first. There is short sparring to practice techniques, but this is always done in a controlled manner. Feel free to indicate to the instructor if you are not yet comfortable with this.
